2005 Official Post Race Party

The Liechtenstein Princely Navy held its traditional Post Race Party on 30 July 2005 in order to celebrate the Navy's exceptional 2005 season. As Admiral Colani put it in his brief remarks to the assembled crew: "Never before has the Navy sunk as much, drunk as much, complained as much and won as little in a single season!"

During the evening the Admiralty presented various photographic and audio-visual recordings from throughout the season as well as historic footage of earlier (some would argue more glorious) days.

Apart from sailors and supporters, the Admiralty had also invited a delegation from the Buzz EA Dragon's team, who's highly respected Men's Team won this year's Stanley Main Race as well as the Stanley Short Course Race. Given chronic crew shortages throughout the season, the Admiralty was most grateful to occasionally borrow some of the distinguished Buzz team members. In recognition of the Buzz' important contribution to the Navy, Admiral Colani presented Buzz President Kevin Ho with the Liechtenstein Golden Star - the highest award ever presented to a competing team member.

President Ho was accompanied by three lovely Buzz Ladies, who can easily out-paddle (and out-drink, we assume) any of our own Sailors.

The gathering was held at the secret hideout of Special Operation Forces (SOF) James Albritton's place and was supposed to be a rooftop party but was moved indoors due to inclined weather conditions. SOF James not only demonstrated his pyrotechnical skills with a highly impressive BBQ, but also kindly offered two rounds of his most lethal special weapon - a homemade concoction called "Flat Liner". It proved highly effective and had several Sailors flat-lined within seconds. Its after effects could be felt until next morning.

Shortly before midnight the party proceeded to the Lan Kwai Fong Beer Festival where the Navy's presence was required for some fuel testing at the Foster's stand. Reports of ensuing activities have been classified.

The Admiralty would like to thank SOF James and Asther for their kind hospitality as well as CBO Stefan for providing the - as always - excellent food.
